My understanding is that the ETC blockchain is actually the original ETH chain which split off after the DAO attack hardfork - however the underlying algorithm and fundamental technology are (or at least were) orginally identical... If this is the case, can ETC not just continue to wait, as ETH rolls out more and more improvements, until some future time when ETH is widely used and highly functional, and then ETC can just propose all the same improvements to regain identical functionality (and potentially value?)... Fundamentally if they started out from the same underlying tech, surely the same improvements can be rolled out on both chains (with adequate developer support obviously)? Does anyone think this might be Greyscale's play? They are obviously smart people with considerable resources - why are they still buying ETC (even as recently as last week) if the chain is useless? So, I've decided to dig up my LTC grave again. I'm faced with the dreaded "The passphrase entered for the wallet decryption was incorrect". I bought the original LTC back in 2013 and decided to sell at the peak a few years ago which is when I first hit this roadblock. *Am I correct in saying this passphrase could be anything? i.e. no pattern of requirements *The passphrase and password are the same thing right? *I realise how stupid this seems but having another shot at getting them. I just finished setting up Litecoin Core and mined for about 6 hours yesterday and expected to see like 0.00000001 in my balance once it got caught up, but I found it to be completely empty. Does this mean my miner (Awesome Miner) isn't doing it's job? Also, I just realized that you get a new wallet address each time I pressed "receive." Should I put the most recent address into the miner? Awesome Miner uses ccminer and the command-prompt-looking-thing regularly spits out messages that look like this: accepted: 158/158 (diff 0.010), 1002.77 kH/s yes! accepted: 159/159 (diff 0.003), 1003.99 kH/s yes! I assume it's working because of the "yes!" but I'm not sure. It would seem that most of Joe Public have little to no interest in Dash and many who were previously big Dash advocates have seen light in other projects, spread their wings and flown from the Dash nest.
