Connecting external APIs (Help!)

I am beginning my journey in blockchain development. Recently had an idea to build a marketplace of anime NFTs and want to use an external API like animelist/jikan to get data.

Reading thru Chainlink documentation, I only got more confused so to what should I do. I understand there are external adapters like this - https://github.com/smartcontractkit/external-adapters-js/ that I would have to custom build. If yes, then what do I do next?

What JobId/OracleId will work in this case?
