I'm looking for a small mobile-app project to teach myself React Native. One thing I'm considering is a Monero wallet that runs on your phone, but doesn't scan the blockchain itself. You would run a "full" wallet on your desktop or a VPS so that it runs all the time and is always in sync. Then the mobile app would simply communicate with this full-wallet via HTTPS. This would prevent you from having to scan for new txs every time you opened your mobile wallet. Would anybody be interested in using something like that if it had a slick UI? Hi r/cardano , I would like to give operating a cardano node a shot before Shelley releases. My idea is to use a cloud server (AWS) to run it on rather than my own machine. I have some experience in programming, but I am having great trouble with figuring out how to get it running. For starters, from what I understand NixOS is not supported on AWS so I would use Debian instead? I have tried understanding the documentation on https://github.com/input-output-hk/cardano-node , but with little success. Is there a resource that simplifies the process or a guide that is not highly-technical? I want to use this process as a learning tool, not just for the end product of running a node, but it seems that my knowledge is below entry-level required to make the github documentation useful. I have been baking for some time with my Ledger Nano S. After about 3 days the Ledger display shuts off. Is this a standby mode or does it really turn off? Or is this a problem of my USB port and the power is shut off which then turns my Ledger off? I am a big fan of Monero (for privacy and true community driven development) and I am also a big fun of ETH and its DeFi ecosystem for obvious reasons. One of the suggestions was to make a wrapped Monero version, so it can be traded on all ETH dex'es. Hi guys, I'm an ICO contributor, and I'm just now getting around to transferring my XTZ to my Ledger Nano S. Up until this point it had just been sitting in my TezBox desktop wallet, delegating away, and I was happy to leave it there untouched earning some passive income. However, now when I try to send my XTZ to my Ledger - I'm getting this error that reads "Operation Failed! - Forge Validation Error - Local and Remote Bytes Don't Match". I checked to make sure TezBox was up to date, and it is. Can anyone help me out, or suggest an alternative route? If I have my original seed from my ICO, can I just download a new wallet and import the seed there and transfer the funds that way? A feel like a lot of use cases for block chain are not always ideal or forced. Had a decent idea for a practical use of block chain in regard to our current pandemic. Basiclly an antibody test that you can take at home which can execute a smart contract depending on results that can verify your test results to show others if you've had the virus already. If you knew you already had the virus and recovered then you can go out in public and not risk spreading it.
