Why it might be a fantastic idea for DIF to buy Tesla shares

When I read the headline that DIF is considering to buy shares in Tesla my immediate reaction was "This is silly - we should reserve our resources for investments which directly help DASH progress towards the 2P2 cash mission". I suspect many had a similar reaction.

But consider the question: What is DASH's main problem right now?

I'd argue that main problem is lack of attention - in particular from new people entering crypto.

And then it hit me - it is a real possibility (of course not certain) that DIF investments into TSLA could result in an avalanche of attention hitting DASH. Consider:

- TSLA has insane levels of attention right now.

- Tesla's (comparatively small) investment in BTC caused massive buzz in the both the traditional world and the crypto world - and arguably helped propel the BTC price above $40k. Ponder the fact that everyone who holds S&P500 (i.e. everyone) (via TSLA) now also owns BTC indirectly. That's massive.

- What's more ridiculous than TSLA buying crypto? Crypto buying TSLA!

- A decentralized P2P blockchain buying TSLA will almost certainly be irresistible to many mainstream financial media journalists - not to mention crypto outlets.

- With a bit of luck we could get serious eyes on DASH and several short-format interviews with e.g. Ryan to explain how it's even possible for a crypto to buy traditional equities and make such a decision. (Perhaps this is an argument to do a masternode vote on this move before doing it?)

- Any increased attention to DASH's unique DAO + DIF structure would be enough to propel DASH up at the speed of a SpaceX rocket - and then who knows - maybe Elon would see that DASH would be the absolute best crypto to use for payments for his upcoming robotaxi network. That would propel DASH to Mars with Elon's starship :-)

To me, the risk/reward ratio of this investment is great. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

[Guide] Setting up a Monero full node on Tails

When should you use this guide Connecting to a third party remote node is not an option (threat model, agency, etc.) You are not able to host a private .onion remote node outside of Tails (with e.g. PiNode-XMR ) Running Qubes+Whonix is not an option This guide does not require setting up a root password or making changes to the firewall. For instructions on how to set up a wallet on Tails with a remote node, visit: http://xmrguide42y34onq.onion/tails What you will need 1 SSF USB (Tails+Blockchain) OR a regular USB (Tails) + external SSD (Blockchain) Corsair Flash Voyager GTX (CMFVYGTX3C-128GB) Sandisk Extreme PRO (SDCZ880-128G-G46) Samsung Portable SSD T5 A computer with at least 4 GB of RAM and an USB 3.0 port Some technical competence The device that stores the blockchain should have a capacity of at least 100 GB. Using the specs above and a recent processor syncing will take on the order of 15 - 30 hours. This will work with regular USB flash storage, but...

Monero node on an external HDD?

Do we need to use a 64+ GB USB 3.0 flash drive to download the monero node through tails or can we just download the monero node on Windows, store it on an external hard drive then just access it through tails with the monero GUI? My computer doesn't even support USB 3.0, and still stuck on 2.0 ports on an old gaming laptop, so I don't see a good reason to drop $50 just to have a secure monero wallet when I already have plenty of hard drives and space. I do boot windows from an SSD but don't really have 50gb to spare for a wallet. submitted by /u/waitwaitwaitup [link] [comments] via Monero: the secure, private, untraceable currency https://ift.tt/317KTeY
