Weekly Wrap: This Week In Chainlink November 2 - November 8

Announcements and Integrations ?

Ethereum-based sidechain @xdaichain is integrating Chainlink as its preferred oracle solution. The many Chainlink ecosystem projects building on xDai Chain will soon have native access to Chainlink oracles for obtaining a full range of off-chain resources.

@BProtocolEth, a liquidation backstop layer built on DeFi lending platforms, has integrated the Chainlink ETH/DAI Price Feed on mainnet to prevent liquidators from non-profitable operations and incentivize more reliable liquidator services.

Cross-chain money market @EquilibriumDefi will use Chainlink Price Feeds to price assets used within its stablecoin, lending, and synthetic asset platform. This ensures fair market valuations and full collateralization for all of its DeFi products.

@Polkadot-based DEX @ZenlinkPro is integrating Chainlink Price Feeds to power DeFi products built on top of its cross-parachain DEX. Chainlink oracles will provide reliable and transparent prices for a variety of assets native to the Polkadot ecosystem.

@cosmos-based blockchain @DipperNetwork is integrating Chainlink as its recommended oracle solution. The initial focus is obtaining secure and reliable oracles for pricing assets on its decentralized exchange DIPSwap & synthetic asset protocol DIPSYN.

Development shop @DigitalBridgeIO is launching a customized 2FA Chainlink oracle. This will provide dApps & end-users with an added layer of on-chain protection before triggering key transactions, further scaling the security of the smart contract economy.

Crypto data provider @coinranking is running its own Chainlink node to sell their signed data directly to smart contracts. Developers can now call Coinranking's Chainlink node to access critical market data that can be used to power, even more, DeFi.

@PolyientGames — a platform focused on the intersection of NFTs and DeFi, is using Chainlink VRF live on mainnet to determine the rarity of each of its limited-edition PolyientQueen NFTs that will be randomly distributed to all eligible PGFK holders.

We’re thrilled to award a blockchain integration grant to @protofire for a native integration of Chainlink on @xdaichain. This will help meet the demand for decentralized oracle networks and data security across the xDAI stable payments blockchain.

What’s New for Developers ?

Chainlink is a blockchain agnostic technology. This section lists the blockchains that Chainlink Price Feeds are currently live on, and the details of where to access them.

Join @Chainlink November 6th - 21st for a two-week online hackathon focused on the power of DeFi with #JavaScript-enabled blockchain @agoric. Level up your JS skills and win up to $10,000 in prizes. Register today at: https://hacktheorb.com

@DMMDAO is using a Chainlink DMG/ETH Price Feed on mainnet to secure the fair distribution of $1.7M worth of value from its yield farming contract. Chainlink Price Feeds track the value of user deposits in USD to denote the value and APR of their DMG rewards.

Chainlink Price Feeds make it easy to quickly support more collateral and trading assets in your DeFi dApp. Integrate our live OXT/USD price oracle to build new OXT markets with little integration work, already used & supported by @OrchidProtocol.

Institutional Support Rallies Behind Exeedmes Blockchain-based Gaming Innovation

With over $13 billion currently locked across DeFi protocols , the decentralized financial landscape has been growing at a breakneck speed. The high quest for a non-custodial financial product and marketplace has been instrumental to the astronomical growth in the DeFi (Decentralized Finance) sector. No doubt, the interest that has rallied behind the DeFi protocols has been phenomenal, NFT market has also been on traction in leading mainstream adoption of blockchain technology. Exeedme, a blockchain-powered gaming platform is combining the capabilities of both sectors to target the gaming industry with a focus on wealth distribution.  Blockchain Has Revolutionized the Gaming Industry Forever  Gaming is one field that has been disrupted by blockchain heavily, especially with the NFT wave that took the gaming industry by surprise. NFTs present a strong use case for DeFi adoption in the coming years 2021-22, while many define 2020 as the year of ‘coming out’ for NFTs. In...

[Guide] Setting up a Monero full node on Tails

When should you use this guide Connecting to a third party remote node is not an option (threat model, agency, etc.) You are not able to host a private .onion remote node outside of Tails (with e.g. PiNode-XMR ) Running Qubes+Whonix is not an option This guide does not require setting up a root password or making changes to the firewall. For instructions on how to set up a wallet on Tails with a remote node, visit: http://xmrguide42y34onq.onion/tails What you will need 1 SSF USB (Tails+Blockchain) OR a regular USB (Tails) + external SSD (Blockchain) Corsair Flash Voyager GTX (CMFVYGTX3C-128GB) Sandisk Extreme PRO (SDCZ880-128G-G46) Samsung Portable SSD T5 A computer with at least 4 GB of RAM and an USB 3.0 port Some technical competence The device that stores the blockchain should have a capacity of at least 100 GB. Using the specs above and a recent processor syncing will take on the order of 15 - 30 hours. This will work with regular USB flash storage, but...
