Staking on Kraken

Hello- I started a Kraken account just for the TEZOS.

I ordered a Ledger Nano X today.

While I wait for the nano x to arrive. Is it ok that i stake my coins on kraken?
And then when my ledger comes in the mail do i transfer it and stake it on ledger?

This is my first time doing anything with crypto. I bought Bitcoin on cashapp last night. Transferred it to kraken account. Used the bitcoin to buy ETH and then I used the ETH to buy XTZ. Am i doing it right?

My main question is am i on the right track? What do I need to know that you wished you knew starting out. My goal is to buy and hold and BTC and XTZ and slowly mass my positions. Thank you for the help
